Get ready for some serious relaxation and healthy exercise on our beautiful, clean island!
Not to worry, we've got you!
For the properties located close to the port, we can arrange for a cart to collect your luggage and deliver it to your holiday rental.
If the rental of your choice is located to the top of the hill, get ready for some picturesque experience, as the best way to carry heavier luggage there is with the help of one of the island's many trusted donkeys or mules!
In either case, we can arrange everything for you, prior to your arrival. Just make sure to let us know in advance!
Note: there's a small extra fee for the transportation, and if you'd like to tip your donkey, word on the street is that they like carrots!
Donkeys and mules primarily help us with transportation, carrying goods and people up and down the steep and narrow cobblestone paths that wind through the island's hills.
They are also used for agricultural purposes, helping farmers carry equipment and produce from the fields.
The Hydriots caring for (or owning) the donkeys, have a deep respect and affection towards their animals, and they consider them to be part of their families, as they have been living side by side for centuries.
Each donkey has their given name, and gets their playing time with their humans
When the donkeys grow old and can no longer work, they are retired and allowed to live out their days in peace.
